Loss of account cards and securities
If you notice that one of your bank cards has been lost or stolen during bank opening hours, go to your bank's nearest branch in the first instance.Your bank will be able to provide details of any blocking fees you may have to pay, and any costs associated with issuing a new card. Outside of your bank's opening hours, your credit card company's customer service hotlines will be available around the clock.
If your card is lost or stolen abroad (outside Austria), telephone your credit card company's customer service number immediately and arrange for the card to be blocked.. If you notice that your financial paperwork (e.g. share certificates, loan certificates, savings books, etc). has been lost or stolen, you must complete a lost property reports or theft report. In addition, you must begin proceedings before the relevant court to have the documents concerned declared invalid For help and advice, please contact the financial institution from which you acquired the paperwork/documents concerned.
