On-road practice – practice vehicle set-up

The practice vehicle does not need to meet any specific criteria (e.g. regarding the hand brake, ignition switch or gearbox) in order to be used for on-road practice. It is also possible to use multiple vehicles as practice vehicles.

Caution

In general, these rules also apply to EU citizens in Austria.

If the practice vehicle is not registered to the applicant or their supervisor, the registration holder of the vehicle must provide written consent for it to be used for practice drives and driving tests.
