Ombud for Equal Treatment

The Ombud for Equal Treatment^{German text} is a government agency at the Federal Chancellery. Its tasks consist of enforcing the right to equal treatment and equality and protecting against discrimination.

• Contacting lawyers for the equal treatment and equality of men and women in the working world^{German text}
  Example: You have been harassed or discriminated against at work or when attempting to access the private sector labour market on the basis of your gender.
• Contacting lawyers for equal treatment without discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, religion or ideology, age or sexual orientation in the working world^{German text}
  Example: You have been harassed or discriminated against at work or when attempting to access the private sector labour market on the basis of your age.
• Contacting lawyers for equal treatment without discrimination on the basis of gender or ethnicity in other areas^{German text}
  Example: You have been discriminated against on the basis of your ethnicity or gender when attempting to access the supply of public goods and services (visiting restaurants, public transport, etc.)
• There are also four regional offices of the Ombud for Equal Treatment located in Graz^{German text}, Innsbruck^{German text}, Klagenfurt^{German text} and Linz^{German text} that are responsible for all grounds of discrimination and areas within their regional jurisdiction.
