Vehicle type-approval (Austria)

Before registering imported vehicles (e.g. cars or motorcycles) with EU type-approval, the approval data must be entered in the approval database. The general importer  will enter this data and produce an extract from the approval database. If the general importer is not authorised to enter this data or does not do so immediately, the responsibility shall fall to the competent provincial governor.

Vehicles without EU type-approval still require a single approval from the provincial governor (type-approval).
