General information on administrative penal law

Violations of legal provisions are punished partly by courts (e.g. violations of the Criminal Code) and partly by administrative authorities (e.g. violations of the Road Traffic Act or the Motor Vehicles Act). Accordingly, a distinction must be made between judicial criminal law and administrative penal law.
