Validation (nostrification)

Validation (nostrification) is the recognition of a foreign higher education qualification as equivalent to an Austrian bachelor’s, master’s, diploma or doctorate or PhD degree by the higher education institution concerned.

You must provide the following:

• passport
• proof of the status of the foreign university, higher education institution or other post-secondary educational institution
• detailed documentation relating to the foreign studies, e.g. syllabus, academic transcript, study guide, examination certificates, academic work and certificates of completion
• degree certificate and award notice
• indication of the applicant’s intended professional activity

These documents must be submitted as either originals or certified copies, and the award notice must always be the original. Documents in foreign languages (except those in English) must be accompanied by certified translations.
